A man was injured as a result of a collapse of a residential building in the center of Uzhgorod. This was reported by Zakarpattya online with reference to 112.ua.
Patrol policemen, who were called by neighbors, who had heard the sound of the collapse, helped a man of retirement age to get out of the rubble. In their opinion, the incident could have have been caused by a repair work. The victim was taken by an ambulance.
Rescuers and police officers were working at the scene. The cause of the collapse will be established by investigators.
According to the press service of the City Council, it happened in a private house a Sandor Petofi sq., 26. According to preliminary information, a mother and son lived there – a woman born in 1949, and a man born in 1971. At the time of the ceiling collapse, the man was in the house, his mother was not at home.
Rescuers, who arrived at the scene, called an ambulance. The medics provided the man with first aid and taken him to the hospital, fortunately he had no significant injuries. The man fled home from the medical institution.
The victims were offered to temporarily live in the Center for homeless persons, they agreed and are currently there. They will be re-examined by doctors, provided with all the necessary help. Tomorrow, the situation will be considered at a meeting of the commission.
