In Transcarpathian region, the school was closed because of the measles outbreak

In Tyachiv district of Transcarpathian region, a school in the village of Hrunyky was closed because of the measles outbreak.

This was reported on the official website of Tyachiv District State Administration, – the Ukrinform informed.

"In order to prevent the spread of measles and to reduce contact between children during a possible incubation period, Hrunyky school shall be closed for a week from April 18 through April 23 (Monday)", – the press service quots the head of the Tyachiv District State Administration Vasyl Demyanchuk.

According to Tetyana Zelenko, the director of the educational institution, since the beginning of April, 54 cases of prolonged fever in children of all ages have been recorded, 15 of which were confirmed to be measles.

According to the head physician Nina Stan, today, 31 children are absent from school, 12 people were referred to the hospital, 2 children with complications – pneumonia – were sent to the infectious department of the district hospital, 10 children are undergoing home treatment.
