In May, we will rest for 11 days

May will begin with a long weekend. The Ministry of Social Policy decided that the Ukrainians will have days off on Tuesday, May 1, Wednesday, May 9, and also on Monday, May 28, 2018.

This was reported by Censor.NET.

To ensure rational use of working time and the creation of favorable conditions for celebration, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to move the working day preceding the day off. Thus, May 1, 2018 (Labor Day) is on Tuesday, so Monday, April 30, will also be a day off. The working day is moved to Saturday, May 5, and it will be shortened by an hour. Thus, Ukrainians will have four consecutive days off - from Saturday, April 28 through Tuesday, May 1.

The Day of Victory over Nazism in the Second World War is celebrated every year on May 9. Traditionally, it is a day off. This year, it is on Wednesday. May 8 is not a day off, but the working day will be shortened by one hour.

The Holy Trinity Day is one of the great holidays of Orthodoxy. It is celebrated on the 50th day after Easter or on the eighth Sunday after Easter. In 2018, Easter was on April 8, and hence the Trinity is on May 27. Since the holiday coincides with weekend, the next Monday, May 28 will a day off. The Ukrainians will have three day off: May 26-28, 2018.

Thus, out of 31 calendar days in May, 20 days will be working days, and 11 days will be days off.
