The prosecutors want to consider "the Tsap case" as soon as possible

As we already reported, the hearing, which was scheduled for today in Uzhgorod City and District Court, was postponed to Tuesday, January 31, because of the absence of the investigator and the prosecutor.

However, the prosecutors themselves flatly disagree with that. This was reported by the deputy prosecutor Andriy Mankut at the urgently convened briefing. They said that the prosecutor had not come to court because "he was too busy", and that they wanted to have the case considered today, and that the court, in their opinion, had violated the CPC.

The court had to consider two requests about the Deputy Mayor Istvan Tsap suspected of corruption: on the suspension from work and taking him into custody.

Andriy Mankut said that the postponement of the court hearing for tomorrow is a violation of Art. 186 of the CPC of Ukraine. Because the case must have been considered by the court within a period not exceeding 72 hours from the time of submission.

Recall that Istvan Tsap commented on the situation immediately after "the hearing, that did not happen".
