Transcarpathians should not go to Hungarian supermarkets Tesco now due to the strike of their workers

On Friday and Saturday, a nationwide strike of the Tesco supermarket workers will be taking place in Hungary, the Mukachevo.net reports. Trade unions agreed on a strike back in late August. The main reason of the conflict is the refusal to raise wages this year. There was also no clear answer on possible mass layoffs.

Instead, the managementp of the Tesco-Global Zrt. decided to create special control groups to check and analyze the work of the supermarkets. Trade unions decided that this was a blackmail and decided to strike. The first stage of the strike began on Friday, September 8, from 16.00 to 24.00, and on Saturday, September 9, from 10.00 to 24.00.

The chairman of the strike committee said that they had tried to come to an agreement with the Tesco's management, but nothing was achieved.

The strikers demand a 25% increase in wages - up to the average level of 200,000 forints and an increase in staffing by 15%. The Tesco has already calculated that these requirements can not be implemented, since it will take additional 14 billion forints.
