Yesterday, an exhibition of works submitted for participation in an open competition for the best project of the monument to the victims of the 1932-1933 Holodomor opened in the atrium of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration and the Regional Council.
The announcement of the start of the contest and its conditions were published in the official media of the region on July 8. By September 30, 7 authors submitted their works to the Department of Culture of the Regional State Administration, including participants from Transcarpathia (Uzhgorod, Mukachevo, Khust), as well as from Lviv and Kyiv. These works are presented at the atrium.
Recall that the task of the contest is to reflect the important historical event in life of Ukraine by means of monumental plastic art on a high artistic level and taking into account the peculiarities of the environment, in particular, the scale, space, landscape and architectural ensemble at the place of installation of the future monument – Uzhgorod, Narodna Sq., 2 (near the building of the Medical Faculty of Uzhgorod National University).
The exhibition will run for a week (until September 10), and then the winners will be determined by the professional committee, which will be announced separately.
