A "smuggling" record was set by a Hungarian, who was transporting 11,500 packs of cigarettes in a car

On October 16, Hungarian police and customs officers found near the town of Mateszalka a car with a record amount of contraband, the Mukachevo.Net reported.

The police first tried to check the documents of the driver of an Audi with German license plates. However, the driver switched off the lights and tried to escape.

The fugitive was found near the village of Kocsord, but the driver had left the car on the side of the road, and ran away. An incredible amount of contraband tobacco products was found inside - 11,500 packs worth almost 15 million forints!  Moreover, there was only one driver's seat in the salon - all other space was filled with cigarettes.

The car itself, as it turned out, previously had a Hungarian registration, but the license plates were de-registered a month ago. So, the unknown smuggler is now being wanted.
