Employees of the Transcarpathian Customs, at the customs post "Uzhgorod", prevented the import of the "five-axis machining center SYSTEM ROBOT AUTOMAZIONE, model "HPLINE PLUS 28-120" into Ukraine. The high-tech plant was being transported in disassembled state by four trucks to the customs territory of Ukraine for one of the leading Ukrainian enterprises engaged in designing, production, repair and maintenance of gas turbine engines for aircraft and helicopters.
According to the documents submitted, the total value of the imported goods was 3,100,000 Euros. The equipment was delivered under the State Aircraft Engineering Program in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On the Development of the Aircraft Industry".
However, customs officials suspected that the goods were being transported to the customs territory of Ukraine in violation of the customs legislation, by submitting documents containing false information.
Following the analytical and search measures taken, the customs officers found out that the actual value of the goods being exported from the European Union was 947,320 Euros.
Given this, the customs experts concluded that the state-owned enterprise tried to embezzle budget funds, by significantly overestimating the goods, and the ultimate goal of this deal could be the transfer of public funds abroad.
Currently, a report on violation of customs rules on the grounds of an offense under Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine for a total amount of UAH 29,725,548 has been drawn up, the goods were seized.
