Investigators of the Uzhgorod district police department found out that the man was on the international wanted list for sexual exploitation of minors. He was put to a temporary detention facility.
Yesterday, November 14, the Chop border guard detachment reported to the police that a person, who was in the Interpol database, was trying to enter Ukraine.
The investigative team, which arrived on call, identified the suspicious citizen. As it turned out, the 45-year-old foreigner, who was trying to enter the territory of Ukraine, was wanted internationally for a criminal offense, in particular, for the sexual exploitation of minors. He was wanted on the territory of the Republic of Slovenia.
The offender was arrested by the police in accordance with Article 208 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. He was put to a temporary detention facility. The issue of extradition of the foreigner to the Republic of Slovenia for serving a sentence is being decided.
