As it was reported earlier, the city authorities of Uzhgorod recently rejected the work of the contractor, that was performing the reconstruction of the pedestrian zone of Poshtova Square.
The main complaints related to the choice of material used for paving the square in front of the mayor’s office – it not only spoiled the appearance of the square, but also caused a lot of inconvenience and even danger to the passersby.
So it was decided to dismantle the cobblestone and instead pave the sidewalk with flat stone tiles.
They started to dismantle the old pavement the day before yesterday, and today the workers are laying these tiles. We made sure that they are flat but rough enough not to be slippery. If the installation work is performed properly, moving around the square on foot should be comfortable and safe. And it will look quite aesthetic.
