Expansion of green areas and reconstruction of the “Bozdosh” and “Pidzamkovy” parks is planned in Uzhgorod

The program of the environmental protection of Uzhgorod for 2018-2022 was approved by the deputies of the city council.

This was reported by the press service of the City Council .

Next year 2018, UAH 2.5 million is provided for the Uzhgorod Environmental Protection Program, and more than UAH 8 million over the course of five years.

The Program identifies the main environmental problems of the city, in particular, pollution of the air by stationary and mobile sources; pollution of surface and groundwater; pollution of the environment by domestic waste; depletion of biodiversity, etc.

In particular, it is proposed to develop and implement the city gardening projects, create new green areas (parks, gardens, etc.), make provisions for the preservation and expansion of green zones in the master plan of Uzhgorod; to carry out reconstruction of "Bozdosh" and "Pidzamkovy" parks; to clear the Uzh river bed; to form a bank of illustrative and informational materials on ecological problems and their solution in the city of Uzhgorod, etc.  The program also provides for the certification of lakes within the city limits.
