In Uzhgorod, a police officer was caught red-handed – while receiving 2 thousand dollars, the ipnews informed.

The detainee was an operative officer of Uzhgorod Police Department.

The police officer, using his official position, extorted money from an offender for not bringing him to justice.

Criminal proceeding has been initiated. Currently, priority investigation activities are being carried out.

The culprit faces imprisonment for five to ten years with disqualification of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years with confiscation of property.
