Aesthetics or savings: on Zhupanatska Square, half the bulbs in street lamps are off (Photo-fact)

A wonderful special atmosphere prevails on Zhupanatska Square, when night lights are switched on. But not all the bulbs are on there. Only about a half of more than 20 bulbs illuminate the way for townspeople and tourists.

 It is believed that external artificial lighting in a city serves aesthetic, environmental and economic functions, as it is one of the most important elements of landscaping and architectural decoration.

But, most likely, it was estimated that there is too much light on Zhupanatska Square, so they save energy there.
