Today, a memorial plaque was unveiled near the main entrance to the stadium Avangard in Uzhgorod, the website Komanda №1 informs. It is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the first match of the national team of Ukraine.
Recall that it took place on April 29, 1992, here in Uzhgorod, the opponent of our team was the national team of Hungary.
The memorial plaque was unveiled by the president of the FFU Andriy Pavelko and the head of the HFF Sandor Csanyi, as well as representatives of Transcarpathia and Uzhgorod authorities. Then, there was a friendly match of football stars of the two countries which finished with a score 3:1 for Ukraine.
