What, where, when in Transcarpathia (1 – 2 of July)

Uzhgorod.in continues its weekly column and inform our readers about the interesting events that will take place on the weekend in Transcarpathia. 

July 1

Spiritual meeting of the community "Mothers in Prayer" on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the community. The beginning i at 9.00 (Parish of Our Lady, Dravtsi neighbourhood, near Uzhgorod). July 1 – unique experiment "100 films in 100 minutes" under the stars. The beginning is at 22.00 (admission fee 40 UAH) (FMK plant, Shumna Str., 21A, Uzhgorod).

Holiday of ice cream. The program – clowns Uncle Yasha and Kvakusha, dolls, circus art, workshops, gifts and prizes. Ice cream for all children (free). The beginning is at 16.00 (Maidan Nezalezhnosti, Khust). 

Uzhgorod "Lumberjacks" against Kyiv "Patriots." The match of 5th round of Ukrainian League of American Football, Division A. The beginning is at 16.00 (free admission) (spare pitch of the "Avangard" stadium, Uzhgorod).

Danube Day – a joint European event, which is celebrated annually in late June in 14 countries of the river basin under the auspices of the International Commission for Protection of the Danube River. The program – competition for best selfie video "My life and the Tisa". The most creative works will receive prizes and will be demonstrated in all Danube countries. In addition, there will be a quest for the participants of the festival: "Journey down the Tisa and the Danube to the Black Sea", the performance of Tisa ambassadors of youth – Romania, painting of a mural, and the contest "Plastic treasures." The beginning is at 11.00 (central square of ​​the city of Tyachiv).

 Fair "Vynogradivski Patsyorka – 4". 9.00 – 15. 00 (passage, the city of Vynogradiv).

July 1-2

Floral festival "Love in St. Miklos". Association of Ukrainian Florists will fill the rooms of the castle with flower arrangements. This year, displays will be situated among torches and candles in the tunnels leading to the basement. Also, 7 teams of florists and volunteer assistants will be working on the external walls and the park. The program of the festival includes: shows of known florists, exhibition of floral installations, a tour of the castle, performances by musical groups, fair of products made of natural materials, sale of bouquets, corollas, flower carpet, photozones. The grand opening of the festival is at 12.00 (Castle St. Miklos, the village of Chynadiyovo, Mukachevo district). 

Circus on the water "SHEKERA" with a new program "ALAZANA". The beginning is at 18. 00 (territory near the school №2, the city of Irshava).

"The tourist Philharmonic". 12. 00 – 15.00, from 14.00 to 13.00 organ music will be played. Price – 15 UAH (Regional Philharmonic, Uzhgorod).

July 2

Parable-musical in one act "Mowgli" director – Natalia Timoshkina) (ticket price 25 UAH). The beginning is at 12.00; premiere "Butterflies are Free" (directed by Honored Artist of Ukraine Vasyl Shershun) (ticket price 30 to 80 UAH). The beginning is at 18.00 (Regional Music and Drama Theater, Uzhgorod).

July 2-7 – during the traditional International Festival "Aiki – Fest Carpathians – 2017", leading experts from Europe will conduct workshops and share experiences in Aikido, Iaido and Jodo.  There will be guests from Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Italy and France (the "Magura" complex, the village o Pylypets, Mizhhirya district).

Exhibitions:

– "Creation" – the exhibition of a native of Transcarpathia, known artist Mykhailo Deyak. Every day, except Monday, 10.00 -18.00 (Transcarpathian Art Museum, Uzhgorod). 

– Exhibition of graduation projects by Students of Transcarpathian Art Academy. Over 60 bachelors and specialists present their projects in the genres of fine and decorative art and design. Every day except Monday, Tuesday – Saturday – 11.00 – 21.00, Sunday – 12. 00 – 19.00 (admission fee is 20 UAH, for students – 10 UAH) (Art center "Ilko Gallery", Koshitska st., Uzhgorod).

– "Petals of the Sun" – the audience is involved in the dialogue between the artist and nature: painting, drawing by Tetyana Bartosz, jewelry by Ivan Slyvka (Castle St. Miklos, Chynadiyovo, Mukachevo district). 

– "Virgin" presented by the Research Institute of National Strategy of Budapest under the auspices of the President of Hungary Janos Ader. The exhibition presents works of 55 artists of the Carpathian region, including works of Transcarpathian artists (exhibition hall of the castle Palanok, Mukachevo). 

– works of amateur artists of Transcarpathia. Every day (except Tuesday) 10.00 – 18.00 (Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life, Uzhgorod).

– paintings of Transcarpathian artist Tetyana Sopilnyak (art cafe "Voto", Voloshin str., Uzhgorod).

– art exhibition "Our ancient Khust" (City Art Gallery (Pirogov st., 1) Khust).

– photo exhibition "Architecture of Uzhgorod, Austro-Hungarian era" from the researchers of Uzhgorod heritage Oleg Olashyna and Lina Degtyaryova ("Owl’s Nest", Uzhgorod).

– traveling exhibition "Roma heritage – from the past to the future." 9.00 – 17.00 (local lore museum, Khust).

– Exhibition of works of People’s Artist of Ukraine A.A.Kotska. 10.00 – 17.00 (Memorial House and Museum of People’s Artist of Ukraine Andriy Kotska, Vinnychna Str., 20, Uzhgorod).

– Permanent exhibition of Fedir Manaylo. Every day except Sunday-Monday – 9.00 – 17.00 (Memorial House and Museum of F. Manaylo, Drugety st., 74, Uzhgorod).

– Museum complex "Old Village". Every day (without breaks and days off) 8.00 – 18.00. Admission fee: adult – 40 UAH, privileged – 30 UAH, children – 15 UAH. Guided tour: up to 10 persons – 100 UAH, up to 20 persons – 150 UAH, up to 30 persons – 200 UAH. Riding on a motor trolley – 50 UAH in the museum "Kolochava narrow gauge" (the village of Kolochava, Mizhhirya district).

– Tisa museum complex – skansen (house of a poor man, rural school and house of a wealthy farmer, the historical museum in the former Foharashi estate). 11:00-19:00 (Shevchenko st., 74, the village of Tysobyken, Vynogradiv district).

– Botanical Garden of UzhNU. Every day, except Saturday – Sunday 8.00 to 16.00, tours by request – 10.00 to 14.00 (Olbracht st., Uzhgorod).

– Small Children’s Railway. The train, which has two cars, runs from the "Molodizhna" station to the "Pidzamkovy" park and back (Uzhgorod).

– Congress of hipsters. For 24 consecutive years, thousands of representatives of different subcultures come the Borzhava valley (meadow above the Shypit waterfall, the village of Pylypets, Mizhhirya district).
