The works for widening the runway at the International Airport "Uzhgorod" have started. Special machines remove the asphalt layer on each side, then a new layer is laid, much wider than the previous one.
– New asphalt is to be laid within two days (hopefully, the weather will facilitate), – the head of the RSA said. – After that, the runway of Uzhgorod airport will be able to take large aircrafts of "Boeing" or "Airbus" class without any reservation.
Renovation of the runway is just one of the stages of the restoration of Uzhgorod airport.
