Samardak is out

The mayor of the most western city of Ukraine – Chop – Valeriy Samardak has already been released.

The official suspected of bribery was released on bail of 128,000 UAH, the Court of Appeal in Transcarpathian region informs.

The defendant is no longer in custody, but there are some restrictions: he can not leave the country and must appear when summoned by the investigator. It is unknown who made bail for the mayor of Chop, but it happened right after the trial.

During the court hearing, the Court of Appeal Transcarpathian region reduced the amount of bail from 1 million to 128 thousand hryvnia.

The head of the Transcarpathian regional state administration Hennadiy Moskal and MP Robert Horvat, who were present at the hearing, wanted to bail V.Samardak, but the court denied them that.

The court upheld the seizure of V.Samardak’s property, rejecting the second appeal of the defence.
