A 23-year-old resident of Uzhgorod made several shots in the air, which were heard by local residents who called the police. The shooter was identified and the gun was seized. Investigators are conducting preliminary investigation over this incident.
Yesterday, about 1.00 am, the police received a report that shots were heard on Drugety street in Uzhgorod.
Investigative team arrived at the scene and found out that the shooter was a 23-year-old guard of a shop, a student at the local university.
As explained by the young man, he decided to test a nonlethal pistol, which he had recently bought legally in a store, which is why he made several shots into the air.
The police seized the pistol EKOL, 5 rounds and 6 shell casings at the scene. All items were sent for examination.
Investigators started criminal proceeding over the incident under Part 1 of Art.263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, that is illegal handling of weapons. During the preliminary investigation, the police will establish all the circumstances of the incident.
