Workers of a utility company responsible for a fall of a tree on a schoolgirl a year ago have been notified of being suspected

Yesterday, December 12, investigator of Uzhgorod Police Department notified two persons that they are suspected in committing an offense under Part 2 of Art. 272 of the CCU, that is, violation of safety rules during performance of dangerous works, which caused grave consequences.

Recall that on November 16 last year, in Uzhgorod, near the secondary school №15, workers of a limited liability company were cutting trees, and one of the trunks fell on a 12-year-old girl. The child sufferred a severe craniocerebral injury, besides, she was diagnosed with an open fracture of both bones of the left shin. The injuries were exacerbated. The child is still undergoing rehabilitation and has not fully recovered.   

At the end of November this year, law enforcement officers received an expert opinion, which states that two people were responsible for the accident. Thus, the organization of the work for tree cutting on Zankovetska street did not comply with the regulatory and technical requirements. Also, the workers did not take proper briefing. In addition, there were no special protective signs at the site of the work. In this regard, investigators notified two employees of the limited liability company that they are suspected. The investigation continues. 

The police complied with all the requirements for investigation of such a complex case, which took time. Law enforcers have gathered the evidence and will refer the case to court, which will make a final decision.
