Uzhgorod residents took part in the charity race to raise money for gifts for children (PHOTOS)

Today, on December 17, the charity and sports campaign "Run to Help!" took place once again on Teatralna Square in Uzhgorod. This year, more than a hundred participants took part in the race - about twice as many as the last year.

Uzhgorod sports community, united by the Uzhhorod Running Club, once again gathered for a good cause - to hold a charity run to raise funds for children from poor families.

Today, the participants had two distances to choose from - 3 or 6 kilometers. Among the runners, there was the team of Uzhgorod City Council, including the deputy mayors Oleksandr Bilak and Vasyl Homonay.

Each runner had to donate 50 UAH for charitable purposes. However, according to the organizers, some participants left more money, and there were people, who woud just throw money into the box and remain spectators of the sporting event. Professional riders, amateurs, and people, who just wanted to contribute to a good cause, took part in the race. 

Uzhgorod Mykolaychiks - an indispensable attribute of the Transcarpathian New Year and Christmas holidays - also joined the sporting event.

Last year, the number of participants was half as many, and they raised just over 9 thousand hryvnia. The amount of this year's donations is still being counting.

The campaigns "Run to Help!" have already become traditional for the regional center of Transcarpathia, which is very good given their noble goals and results, - the press service of Uzhgorod City Council informs
