The main Christmas tree of Transcarpathia is being set up on Narodna Square in Uzhgorod (PHOTOS)
The main Christmas tree of the region is being set up in Uzhgorod, on Narodna Square in front of the building of the Regional State Administration. The tree was brought from the village of Lazeshchyna in Rakhiv district.
The 70-year-old tree has a height of about 18 meters, the diameter of the trunk is half a meter, and the width of the lower branches is nine meters. The Christmas tree will be decorated with a kilometer of fairy-lights and half a thousand toys. In addition to silver and red balls from last years, this year, they have bought new yellow, silver and red toys in the shape of bells.
In addition to the tree on Narodna Square, an 8-meter-tall Christmas tree will be set in the atrium of the Regional State Administration.
The grand opening of the main regional Christmas tree will be held on St. Nicholas Day - December 19.
