The family of the famous writer is founding the Ivan Chendei Small Prose Contest
The first in Transcarpathia regular contest will encourage both young people and experienced writers, as well as literary critics.
On the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the famous Ukrainian prose writer, winner of the Shevchenko Prize Ivan Chendei, the writer's family initiates the all-Ukrainian contest of small prose in order to encourage the development of Ukrainian literature in this genre, the mediacenter.uzhnu reports.
According to the writer's daughter Maria Treshchak, the contest will be annual, and the awarding of the winners will be taking place in the second half of May.
According to the regulations, previously unpublished works in Ukrainian with the length of no more than 30 thousand characters including spaces will be admitted for participation. The contest is held in three nominations: young prose (for participants under 25 years old); adult prose (25 and older); Chendei studies (article, review, essay). You can submit only one piece in each nomination.

Works for the contests are accepted until April 15, 2018
The winners will be determined by a professional jury. And the winners will receive diplomas and monetary rewards. The organizers of the contest plan to publish collections with the best works of contestants every 5 years.
