Charity auction “Buy a date”: interesting facts and statistics

Charitable auction "Buy a date – give a child a holiday" has finished in Transcarpathia. This annual event attracted a great attention, and the number of participants in 2017 exceeded that of previous years.

Recall that during the auction, the participants posted their photos in the corresponding group on "Facebook" and offered dates with them as lots, while others made their bids.     All proceeds will be spent on gifts and assistance to disadvantaged children.

And yesterday, December 10, the auction was closed, it’s time for participants to pay their bids and make arrangements for meetings between lots and buyers.

We reviewed all the offers and prepared interesting statistics based on the results of this year’s charity auction.

So, men offered 215 lots, while girls and women almost twice as many – 428 offers. But in the course of the campaign, 7 female participants withdrew their lots due to different circumstances.

People’s Deputy Robert Horvat was the indisputable leader among the men. Olga Yarema from Uzhgorod is willing to pay for a date with him as much as 2,380 UAH.

The bid for a meeting with a well-known journalist Michael Shchur is slightly less – 2,040 hryvnia. The deputy mayor of Uzhgorod Oleksandr Bilak is on the third place – 1,820 UAH. Just 20 UAH less – 1,800 – was offered by the buyers for meetings with the Chairman of the Regional Council Mykhailo Rivis and the head of the department Denys Man.

Among unusual lots, there is the talisman of the Ukrainian national basketball team Cat, as well as a mysterious "Cool Transcarpathian person, who will definitely leave a good aftertaste after the meeting". It is unknown who exactly it is, and the range of versions is wide, from Valentin Shtefanyo to Hennadiy Moskal. In any case, somebody is willing to pay 1,160 UAH for a meeting with the anonymous.

 

The leader both among the girls and of the auction in general is a Facebook user Erica – the bid for a date with her reached 2,840 UAH.

Nadiya Dyolog, the athlete (wheelchair fencing) is on the second place – 1,840 UAH. 18 female participants were offered more than 1,000 UAH for dates with them.

On the first day of the fundraising, the organizers were transferred 30,177 UAH. According to preliminary calculations, at 90-100% rate of payment, a new record will be set this year – almost 250 thousand hryvnias!

And one more interesting news – the organizers invite all the participants of the auction, both lots and buyers, to the volunteers’ meeting, which will be held on December 16, at 18.00 in the Puppet Theater "Bavka".
