Meeting the dawn of the Independence Day with the prayer for Ukraine. This has become a tradition for Uzhgorod – our city is the first to congratulate the Motherland and wake Ukrainians up on this festive day.
And the 26th anniversary of Independence did not become an exception for the Transcarpathian folk choir and the people who came to congratulate the state at the sunrise on her birthday. This year, the event taking place on the initiative of the choir took place for the fourth time on Narodna Square. The artisits of the choir performed song, priests held an ecumenical prayer, and children appealed to God not only in Ukrainian, but also in the languages of national minorities living in Transcarpathia.
The square was decorated with valuable icons exhibited in Uzhgorod under the charitable project "For Soldiers from Artists", including the icon of the Virgin, which was standing on the Maidan during the most difficult times of the Revolution of Dignity.
The event was crowded, touching, spiritual, but, at the same time, with the common spirit of faith – in goodness and victory. No wonder, the motto of this year’s "Prayer for Ukraine" is "This way we’ll win!".
