In Perechyn district, money and church attributes were stolen from a church

The police continue to investigate the theft of church attributes from a church in Perechyn district. The suspect has already been identified

Recently, a resident of the village of Mokra appealed to Perechyn police. The man reported that unknown persons had stolen from the local church a safe with 11 thousand hryvnias.

The investigative team, that arrived at the scene of crime, found the safe near the church. During a further examination of the scene, it was found out that church attributes – gilded plates, bowls and spoons – had also been stolen.

Law enforcers found out that a resident of the village of Turya-Remeta could have been involved in the theft. The suspicion was confirmed when they found stolen items at the man’s place. Church attributes, namely bowls, candlesticks, communion spoons, and brushes for anointing, were seized.

A criminal proceeding over this incident was initiated under Part 3 of Art. 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (burglary). Currently, the police are checking the man’s involvement in other similar crimes.
