How the retro-train was sent for the first trip (PHOTOS)

From now on, every Friday and Saturday, you can take ride along the tourist route of Borzhava narrow-gauge railway "Antsya Kushnytska".

Despite the crazy heat, there were a lot of people who came to look at the locomotive, which will be driving cars on the narrow-gauge railway.

The rare locomotive was made in Germany, back in 1950, at the VEB Lokomotivbau "Karl Marx" Babelsberg factory. It was brought to Vynogradiv from the city of Haivoron, Kirovohrad region.

According to the regional officials, they were working for about a month to fix up the old steam locomotive.

Sebastian Trolle, the advisor to the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine and the author of this tourism project, says that they plans to complete it in 5 years. It is planned to have several locomotives with European passenger and freight cars running on this narrow-gauge railway.

Rides on the narrow-gauge railway are a truly unique attraction of Transcarpathia, because now there are only a few of them in Ukraine.

Today, the locomotive with newly renovated cars drove by the Borzhava narrow-gauge railway to Shalanky, where guests and tourists were welcomed with songs, dances and tasty treats.

The organizers say that this pilot project will be being implemented during August and will please many tourists.  

But now, they say, it is very important for entrepreneurs, active residents of the district to came together and bring variety and improve this tourist destination.

The nearest plan is to introduce a restaurant car, where tourists could taste local wines.
