Which wines will be available at the festival “Sakura wine”?

The first festival "Sakura Wine" starts on Friday, April 21, in the "Owl’s Nest" in Uzhgorod. Wine makers are getting ready to conduct presentations and tasting of their products. Today, we will tell which renowned winemakers will present their wines at the festival and which wines you should try.

COTNAR

This is one of the largest wineries in Western Ukraine. Cotnar is located in Transcarpathian region in the village of Muzhievo, where Ukraine borders to Hungary. A little over two years ago, Hungarian Vince Bela became the chief winemaker, and now they produce Cabernet, Merlot, Chardonnay, Riesling, and recently the winery presented its first Sauvignon, which has already proven itself at numerous tastings.

The calling card of the winery is known and beloved Rose, the symbol of the festival "Sakura Wine".

Chizay

The plant of the "Chizay" winery is located in Beregovo district, in the Chizay tract that gave its name to the trademark. Almost at the border with Hungary. It was founded in 1995. At present, it is a modern winery complex with a complete cycle of production and its own vineyards (more than a million seedlings), primary and secondary winemaking plants, tasting rooms, shop and museums of viticulture and winemaking.

Exclusive wine "Sakura of Transcarpathia" from Chateau Chizay

Specially for the festival "Sakura Wine", the "Chizay" winery produced a refined wine with a special taste. Sakura of Transcarpathia is made of grape from 2015 harvest and is a limited series. 

Prince Trubetskoy’s Winery

Here, they use only their own grapes for wine making. Trubetskoy’s vineyards are located on the area of ​​200 hectares in Kherson region on the slopes of the Dnieper river. They have been producing wine from grapes grown in their own vineyards for 120 years. High-quality grapes gives the wine fine and delicate notes, which appear in taste and aroma.

Also at the festival, there will be wines from more than 10 small wineries from all over Ukraine. You will be able to try wines from large and small wineries on April 21 "Owl’s Nest."
