Smuggled cigarettes were found on March 31 by employees of the State Border Guard Service jointly with the customs officers at the border with Romania. They were hidden among the cargo of rough boards.
Border guards received the information about an attempt to illegally transport cigarettes across the border in advance. So, when the truck "DAF" driven by a citizen of Ukraine arrived at the checkpoint "Porubne", border guards initiated its in-depth inspection.
As a result of the inspection, 12 boxes of cigarettes with Ukrainian excise stamps were found among the cargo of rough boards that were being transported in the truck.
Currently, 6,000 packs of cigarettes worth nearly 115 thousand hryvnia have been seized. The circumstances of the offense are being established.
