An Uzhgorod resident managed to photograph a wooden Star of David (PHOTOS)

Oleksandr Bohdanov shared the story of an old dream to photograph the Star of David on the crest of the oldest synagogue of Uzhgorod:

"Any Uzhgorod guide or Transcarpathian historian knows that there is a wooden Star of David on the crest of the oldest synagogue of Uzhgorod on the intersection of Fedynets street and Zhupanatska square, near the chimney of the neighboring building. It crowns the attic vent outlet and is made of wood. Once I even heard the theory that there is a closet for punishment behind the "star". Teenagers, who did something bad, were sent there to atone for their sins. They had to pray looking at the city through this small "star window."

About 10 years ago, I set out a goal to myself to photograph and show people this historic object. And so, gradually, this obsession has become kind of a dream of an amateur photographer and ethnographer. It’s okay, I would tell myself, one day I’ll buy a drone, fly to the "star" and take a picture of it. Years have passed. I still have not bought a drone, but sometimes they allow me to fly one…

Today, after circling around several "obstacles" in the form of wires, trees, and fences, I finally realized my old dream. And take a look at this angle… with the Zupanat in the background.

God save the DJI company. And yes, on Easter, dreams sometimes come true!…"
