The festival "Red Wine" has long become a calling card of Transcarpathia. Moreover, it is also international. It takes place every year since 1996 on the Old New Year. It is at this time that last year’s wine harvest acquires the best taste.
The festival started with a festive procession and a theatrical performance with the participation of actors of the Transcarpathian Drama and Comedy Theater near the city Christmas tree. The procession ended in the "Peremoha" park, where the opening of the festival took place on a specially arranged stage.
This year festival-fair "Red Wine" takes place in the "Peremoha" park. A little town with wooden houses was built there. Guests and townspeople can taste only best Transcarpathian wines – they were selected by a special tasting commission. Overall, 40 best winemakers of the region take place in the festival-contest.
Today, the chamber choir "Cantus" will perform at the festival.
On 15-16 of January, caroling groups of Mukachevo schools, House of Schoolchildren will perform.
January 16, at 18:00, there will be gala concert with the participation of contestants of the Nationwide Youth Singing Contest song "Christmas bright star." At 21:00, the band "Rock H" will perform.
On the last day, January 17, at 14:30, the closing of the festival, awarding of winners will take place. In the evening, the band "Chalamada" will perform.
