Volodymyr Chubirko: "My car was burnt by those who want to destabilize the situation"

The former Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council, businessman and social activist commented the arson of his car on his page on Facebook:

"All sites have already reported about the arson of my car, so I think this is not news to you. Indeed, this unpleasant and frankly, absolutely incomprehensible to me incident happened.

I have only one explanation of this crime - someone continues to destabilize the situation in Transcarpathia. It is the only context this incident fits in. I have no other explaination for this crime because everyone knows that I am a public and open person, always trying to find compromises even in the most difficult situations. This is evidenced by my election as the chairman of the regional council when the war started in the country, and my activity in this post, which was always aimed at achieving peace in Transcarpathia, introduction of European rules in all areas. Therefore, I reject any personal or business motives. Similarly, I do not know of any politician who could do such a daring thing. I have open and constructive discussions with all current and former political opponents that would certainly not led to such consequences.

I am glad that no one was hurt in the incident. And I have made only one conclusion for myself - I will continue my political activity, continue to implement the initiated projects, and continue to take an active part in the life of Transcarpathia and Uzhgorod. If anything, just to finally root out these crimes that continue to poison our society. I do not know what these criminals and their masters were hoping for, but they certainly have not intimidated me!"

According to the PR Department of the Transcarpathian regional police, the call was received at 19.21. The incident was classified as a premeditated arson (Art.194, Part 2 of the Criminal Code)
