Uzhgorod club of philatelists presented an exhibition dedicated to the upcoming holidays

On January 20, in the lobby of the building of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, Uzhgorod philatelists presented the collection of unique exhibits which tell the history of Ukraine and, especially, Transcarpathia – from the 18th century to the present day.

12 participants presented about 30 stands, almost all of them are members of Uzhgorod club of philatelists, which now includes fifty collectors. 

During the opening of the celebration the Head of Culture Department of the RSA pointed out the uniqueness of the event, because it is the second presentation of Uzhgorod club of philatelists since Independence.   Also, on the occasion of the upcoming holidays and the opening of the exhibition, the head of the Culture Department of the RSA awarded a veteran philatelist Dariy Serkez, who dedicated almost 60 years to stamp collecting, for active participation in the development of philatelic movement in Transcarpathia.

  

According to the organizer, the chairman of Uzhgorod club of philatelists Mykola Dudnik, the most expensive pieces in the exhibition are dated to the 18th century.

The exhibition will run until January 22. On the closing day, at 14.30, there will be a festive special cancellation of an artistic envelope and stamp, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Transcarpathian region within the Ukrainian state. The exhibition organizers and representatives of the Regional Directorate of the "Ukrposhta" invite everyone to share a momentous event.
