Transcarpathian Folk Choir will be caroling today!

On January 17,the Honoured Academic Transcarpathian Folk Choir will perform in the Holy Cross Cathedral Greek Catholic Cathedral in Uzhgorod.

With this performance, the choir completes the cycle of New Year and Christmas concerts which have taken place in different parts of Transcarpathia. This event also has a charitable purpose – to help needy Uzhgorod residents. The idea to contribute to the good cause was suggested by the artistic director of the choir Natalia Petiy-Potapchuk. According to her, it is important during such holidays to give warmth not only to your family, but also to people who have nobody to help them in their lives. Members of the choir supported the idea unanimously.

Everyone can contribute to the campaign "Help Your Neighbor" by donating money to the charitable organization that cares for homeless and children from disadvantaged families – namely, helps them with food. Volunteers will place special donation boxes.

As always, the Transcarpathian Folk Choir will offer their fans an interesting and varied program: the most common and the most rare Transcarpathian carols, carols in languages of the nationalities represented in Transcarpathia, "Shchedryk" by M.Leontovych, and a number of thematic choral works of Ukrainian and Transcarpathian composers. The soloists: Petro Matiy, Miroslava Kopynets, Yana Sadvariy, Oleksandr Tovt.

The beginning is at 18.30.
