In Perechyn, a trial run of central water supply stopped due to intense rains was made
During the night, water level on the main waterways of Transcarpathia began to decline. The decline in various places ranges from 0.8 to 1.5 meters. In the morning, the flood wave on the Tisa river reached the Ukrainian-Hungarian border, there is no threat of breaking out the banks. In the lower reaches of the Borzhava river (Irshava and Vynogradiv districts), water broke out onto the floodplain near the villages of Vilkhivka, Zarichchya and Komyaty and flooded greenhouses.
In some cases, river water reached private gardens, but there is no flooding of residential buildings.
The most difficult situation is in the city of Perechin, where on Wednesday night (13.01), because of rain and rise of the ground water, five of the six wells providing drinking water to the city were flooded (the sixth well is closed for technical reasons). Over three thousand three hundred local residents living in high-rise buildings and private homes were left without water. In the morning, drinking water was delivered by a local utility company, and technical water - by employees of the State Emergencies Service. The trial run of central water supply was made is Perechyn yesterday, January 13, in the afternoon. Complete resuming of water supply will depend on decline of groundwater level and purification of the wells.
