"All Transcarpathia reads children" (Announcement)

About 5 years ago, the Research center of literature for children and youth joined the massive socio-cultural project "All Europe reads to children" and, inspired by the success of Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and other countries, launched a similar project - "All Ukraine reads to children."

The project goal is to popularize books and to spread the idea of early reading to children, because children, who read books since early age, will grow to be decent, intelligent, interesting and successful people that eventually develop our country in the same vein.

The project was being implemented in a number of regions, in November 2013, Transcarpathia joined the initiative, naming its project "Read with us."

Because of the notorious events, the project had to be put on hold then. Nevertheless, the relevance of the message remains the same and it pushed activists to revive the project.

As before, known representatives of various spheres of public life will be promoting reading to children, and this time, they will be not only from Transcarpathia, but also visitors from outside the region. The second difference is that meetings will take place not only in educational institutions, but also in cultural institutions, hospitals and nursing homes and even in completely unexpected locations, such as city squares or parks (of course, in warmer months). They also plan to expand the geography of the meetings - in different parts of Transcarpathia.

Events will take place once or twice a month, on or before important national, cultural, religious holidays and special dates intended to draw public attention to the issue of comprehensive development and protection of children's rights.

Thus, the opening of the project "All Transcarpathia reads to children" will be held on January 19 in the hall of the Academic Puppet Theater. The event will be attended by the organizers and the first guest of the project, as well as Uzhgorod students.

The beginning is at 14.00.
