Owners of the cars with foreign registration blocked the checkpoint “Uzhgorod” demanding to extend the transit term

Owners of the cars with foreign registration blocked the road leading to the checkpoint "Uzhgorod" on the border with Slovakia.

According to the Censor.NET referring to the State Border Guard Service, the initiators of the blocking demand to extend the transit term for vehicles with foreign registration in Ukraine.

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine recommends citizens, who need to get to Slovakia, to use other crossing points. For example, "Maly Berezny" which works around the clock.  It is suitable for vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists. In addition, there are checkpoints "Chop" (Strazh) (railway) operating according to the train time-table and "Mali Selmentsi" (pedestrian and cycling), which is open from 09.00 to 21.00.

Recall that in March, the working group formed by the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal, prepared a draft law on new rules for the stay of vehicles with foreign registration in Ukraine. Under the bill, it is proposed to increase the term of stay of such vehicles in Ukraine to 1 year.
