At the checkpoint "Porubne", during the inspection of the minibus "Mercedes", border guards together with representatives of fiscal authorities noticed that the driver, a citizen of Romania leaving Ukraine was significantly anxious. During the in-depth inspection of the vehicle, the inspection team found 70 packs of cigarettes "Rothmans" and "LM" in a specially manufactured cache and design features of the car. The found cigarettes and the vehicle were seized from the driver. The total value of the confiscated items is more than 80,000 UAH.
As previously reported, yesterday, at the checkpoint "Tisa", border guards of the Chop detachment together with customs workers stopped a German national, who also intended to smuggle across the border more than 900 packs of cigarettes "LM" in a car "BMW". The foreigner hid the cigarettes in the compartment for the folding roof of his convertible. The vehicle and the cigarettes worth more than 220,000 UAH were seized.
