According to the head of the department for epidemiological control (monitoring) of infectious diseases of the "Transcarpathian Regional Laboratory Center of the MoH of Ukraine" Victoria Tymchyk, last week, 3105 people in Transcarpathian region fell ill with acute respiratory infections, which is 38% more than during the previous one. The incidence rate is 246.59 per 100 thousand people, which is 8% below the epidemic threshold.
The proportion of children among the cases has not increased compared to the previous week and amounts to 70.8%. The number of reported acute respiratory infections among children under 4 years old has increased by 39%, among 5-14 years old children – by 34%, among 18-29 years old adults – by 53%.
4% of the total of cases (130 persons) have been hospitalized, including 107 (82%) children. Monitoring over the progress of the epidemic situation in the region continues.
