The police have found a girl, who was taken from home without the knowledge of her mother

Employees of Beregovo Police Department for two days were looking for an underage girl who had been taken by her mother’s friend to the neighboring village of Borzhava. On the first day alone, law enforcement officers made more than forty visits to all the people the relatives of the missing child could recall.

The 11-year-old girl’s mother reported to the police that when she woke up in the morning in her apartment in Beregovo, the child was not at home. Law enforcement officers immediately began searching for the minor, met with the girl’s classmates, her teachers, all friends of the child and her mother.

Overall, they made more than 40 visits to the addresses of potential witnesses who might know about the whereabouts of the child. However, they managed to find the girl only the next day. It turned out that the child had been taken by her mother’s friend to her partner in the neighboring village. The woman explained that she decided to take the girl because her mother was intoxicated.

The police will draw up a report against the mother under Part 1 of Art. 184 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences, ie neglect of children by parents or caretakers. In addition, employees of Beregovo Police Department will convene today, October 26, the Committee for Children Matters of Beregovo City Council to raise the issue of inspecting social conditions of the family and possibly depriving the girl’s mother of parental rights.
