The festival “Carpathian Vatra” will be held in Uzhgorod

On November 3-4, the International Literary Festival "Carpathian Vatra" will be held in Uzhgorod. Launched in 2008 on the initiative of regional writers, the festival aims to support and develop creative relationships between Transcarpathian writers and colleagues from other regions and from the Ukrainian diaspora of the neighboring countries. 

The fourth "Carpathian Vatra" traditionally will bring together numerous authors and lovers of literature, however, this time it will be special, as is timed to the anniversary of the creation of the Transcarpathian regional organization of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine. Along with Transcarpathian writers, authors from Kyiv, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Ternopil, as well as from Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Poland will take in the festival. 

November 3

12.00-14.30 – creative meetings of the "Carpathian Vatra" festival participants with students of Uzhgorod National University;

15.00-15.30 – laying of flowers at monuments to Taras Shevchenko and Augustin Voloshin;

16.00-18.00 – festive literary soiree dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Transcarpathian regional organization of the National Union of Writers, opening of the festival "Carpathian Vatra" (in the hall of the Puppet Theater). 

November 4 – the premises of the regional National Union of Writers organization NSPU (Uzhgorod, Zhupanatska st., 3):

10.00-12.00 – round table discussion on "Creative collaboration of Ukrainian writers from border areas of the Carpathian Euroregion in the context of Ukrainian literary process";

12.00-14.00 – poetry reading "Star of the Carpathians in the sky of Ukraine";  

15.00 – summing up the festival "Carpathian Vatra".
