As you know, recently officers of the Security Service of Ukraine exposed the mechanism of extortion organized by employees of the customs post "Tisa" in Transcarpathia for letting minibuses enter Ukraine..

Law enforcement officers found out that some customs officers were regularly receiving money from the drivers of vans carrying parcels of migrant workers from Europe. The rate was 400-500 euros per each vehicle. In one day, about a hundred of such vans enter Ukraine through the customs post "Tisa".

Employees of the security service in conjunction with the military prosecutors detained a customs officer responsible for countering smuggling and violations of customs rules while he was receiving a bribe of four hundred euros. During the examination of the customs post premises, operatives of the Security Service of Ukraine found seven thousand euros hidden in a dog pen. The criminal gathered this amount in four hours.

The criminal proceeding under Part 3 of Art 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine has been opened. The customs officer was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedur Code of Ukraine.

Urgent operational-investigative measures are being taken to identify and bring to justice all officials involved in the corruption scheme.

Recall that last Sunday, the Security Service of Ukraine detained customs officers and border guards of the checkpoint "Tisa", who were taking bribes from Ukrainian drivers of minibuses from Italy. In addition to the bribe, a "black cash" in amount of 200,000 UAH was also seized.

Immediately after the publication of the information about the incidents at the customs post "Tisa" by the Zakarpattya online, the press service of the Main Office of the SFS in Ukraine in Transcarpathian region hastily tried to deny the facts.
