According to the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathia, the injured mushroom hunter was accidentally found by a resident of Svalyava, who went to the Hlyboke for a firewood. It happened on October 25 about seven in the evening. The Transcarpathian came across the injured man in the bushes and immediately reported it to rescuers.
Most likely, the mushroom hunter had a broken leg, but after a long time without the help he was in a very bad condition. The nearest crew of the Fire and Rescue Unit was sent to the approximate location of the victim. But it turned out that because of a bad road neither they nor an ambulance can get to the victim, and the distance was about five kilometers. Then the rescuers decided to get to the mushroom hunter by a truck GAZ-66 which was provided by one of the locals.
The rescue workers were in hurry, because it was getting colder and darker.
The operation was successful. The victim was a 60-year-old resident of the district center, who had injured his leg while picking up mushrooms and could not move. He almost fainted due to pain shock.
The victim was immediately given first aid (splint) and taken to an ambulance. Now he is being treated in the traumatology unit of Svalyava District Hospital
