Consulate of Romania in Transcarpathia will finally open

The Consulate of Romania in the city of Solotvyno in Tyachiv district will open in November. According to the press service of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, this was announced by the head of the consulate Gabriel Nicola during a meeting with leaders of the region – Hennadiy Moskal and Yosyp Borto.

According to the consul, until now the diplomatic institution has not been working for reasons of paperwork formalities and technical equipment, but by the end of the month all the obstacles will have been removed, and they will begin receiving citizens. The consulate will be issuing national visas of all types and permits for small border traffic. According to G. Nicola, the Consulate of Romania in the village of the Solotvyno will have the same powers and functions as the Consulates General in the city of Chernivtsi and the city of Odesa.

The diplomat also said that he supports Hennadiy Moskal’s intentions to resume the work of previously existing crossing points on the border of Transcarpathia and Romania. He assured that he would facilitate the implementation of these aspirations on his part.
