What, where, when on weekend in Transcarpathia (5 – 6 of November)

November 5 – musical theatrical program "100 minutes beyond time." The program includes a musical journey with string quartet, unique ceremonies from Serhiy Dobosz, theatrical costume attraction in the castle with torches, mini buffet. The beginning is at 20.00 (Palanok castle, Mukachevo).

November 5 – The football championship of the region among teams of the Children and Youth Football League. The beginning is at 13.00 (stadium, Irshava).

November 5 – 6 – boxing championship of Transcarpathian region among juniors born in 2001-2002 and men born in 1999-2000. November 5 at 12. 30 – opening and preliminary fights. November 6 at 10. 00 – the beginning of final fights (sports complex "Rukavychka" Mukachevo).

November 5 – 11 – Week of Hungarian Cinema "Hungarian Rhapsody" dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the revolution. The program – "Unburied Corpse / A temetetlen halott" (2004), dir. Márta Mészáros (biographical feature film about Imre Nagy, the communist leader and first prime minister of Hungary in 1953-1955. The film tells about the tragic moments of his life. Participant of the International Film Festival in Karlovy Vary). "Professor Hannibal / Hannibál tanár úr" (1956), dir. Zoltan Fabri. Based on the novel by Ferenc Móra. The events of the film take place in the interwar period in Budapest.

     "Ten thousand days / Tízezer nap" (1967), dir. Ferenc Kósa (historical drama. Events in Hungary through the eyes of three men in the course of more than 30-year period. The competitor of the Cannes Film Festival 1967, where Kósa was awarded as the best director).

"Hungarian Rhapsody / Magyar rapszódia" (1979), dir. Miklós Jancsó (the first chapter of the trilogy about the dramatic history of Hungary from the beginning of the century to the Second World War. Perticipant of the Cannes Film Festival in 1979). "Stalin’s Bride / Sztálin menyasszonya" (1991), dir. Peter Bacso (both funny and tragic story of a crazy village woman, who was called "Stalin’s bride").

"Men in the Nude / Ferfiakt" (2006), dir. Karoly Esztergalyos (a story of relationship between a married 49-year-old writer and a 19-year-old boy. In 2007, the film participated in numerous international film festivals in Berlin, Chicago and Rio de Janeiro). "Hanussen" (1988), dir. Istvan Szabo. (after World War I, Klaus Schneider begins a new life and becomes a known hypnotist and clairvoyant attracting the attention of Nazi leaders.

Nominated for an Oscar and a Golden Globe in the category "Best foreign language film"). Every day, except Monday, admission fee is 20 UAH (Ilko gallery, Uzhgorod).

November 6 – Strategic session on urban development. The strategic session will take place under the project "Change Workshop: Dialogue for the Future". The beginning is at 11.00 ("Owl’s Nest"wine cellar, Uzhgorod).

November 6 – "Oh, the vintage." Concert of the Honored Academic Transcarpathian Folk Choir. The beginning is at 17.00 (Regional Philharmonic, Uzhgorod). 

November 6 – performance "Mowgli". The beginning is at 12.00 (ticket price is 25 UAH), "The Good Soldier Svejk." The beginning is at 18.00 (30-80 UAH) (Regional Music and Drama Theater, Uzhgorod).

November 6 – Volodymyr Danets based on fairy tales by Ivan Franko "Horseshoe for Luck"
 (ironic tale for children of preschool and school age). The beginning is at 11.00 and 13.00 (Transcarpathian Puppet Theatre "Bavka", Uzhgorod).

 

Exhibitions:

– Paintings of artist Spyridon Pavlenko. Every day except Tuesday, 10.00-18.00 (Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Life, Uzhhorod). 

– Exhibition of the co-founder of the Transcarpathian school of art, People’s Artist of the USSR Yosyp Bokshay – in honor of the 125th anniversary of the artist. Overall, it will feature 80 works from the museum’s collection. Charitable FoundationY.Bokshay Charitable Foundation will contribute to the exhibition by providing archival materials, children’s drawings, front sketches made by Yosyp Bokshay in captivity. Every day, except Monday, 10.00 -18.00 (Art Museum, Uzhgorod).

– Exhibition of fine and decorative art by member of the National Union of Folk Artists of Ukraine Anatoliy Sakalosh – on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the artist. At the exhibition in Uzhgorod, Anatoliy Sakalosh presents more than 60 oil and watercolor paintings and wood carvings created by the master over the last decade. Every day except Tuesday, 10.00-18.00 (Transcarpathian Museum of Folk Architecture and Life, Uzhhorod).

– Exhibition of works by Pavlo Kutlan. 11.00 – 15.00 (exhibition hall "Impasto", Vynogradiv).

– Exhibition "10x5x0 = 0 "Black Square of Transcarpathia. 0", which is dedicated to a landmark event – the creation of the painting by Kazimir Malevich "Black Square". Exhibitors – Serhiy Biba, Natalia Moskalyova, Serhiy Lakatos, Igor Lutsenko. Curator – Volodymyr Filipov. (Franko’3 / coffee & gallery, Franko st., 3, Rakhiv).

– Retrospective exhibition of Transcarpathian artist Volodymyr Cherepanya titled "Across the river, in the shade of trees" (entrance fee is 20 UAH, for students – 10 UAH) Saturday – 11.00 – 21.00, Sunday – 12.00 – 19.00 (art center "Ilko Gallery").

– Exhibition of paintings "Slice of contemporary art of Transcarpathia". The collection of nearly 70 works by over 30 authors (the atrium of the RSA building, Narodna Square, Uzhgorod).  

– Exhibition of photographs from the front dedicated to the 128th separate mountain infantry brigade "We are standing for our country" (Art Gallery of the castle "Palanok" Mukachevo).
