Until the arrival of rescuers, an accident witness was helping the driver to stay conscious (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

The operational-rescue service received a report that on Kyivska street in Rakhiv, a car Mersedes-Bens Sprinter had slid into the Tisa river.

The car ended up in the middle of the mountain stream.

Upon notification, one crew of rescuers consisting of 4 people was sent at the scene.

Before the arrival of the rescuers, a 31-year-old resident of Rakhiv Ivan Lokota, who witnessed the accident, rushed to help the injuried 20-year-old driver. The man overcame the rapid current and got to the vehicle with the injured driver. By that time, water had filled half of the vehicle. Before the arrival of rescuers, Ivan was staying near the injured driver and keeping him conscious.

A few minutes later, rescuers arrived ar the scene. They got to the vehicle and evacuated the driver to the shore. Paramedics were already waiting there. After giving him first aid, the man was immediately taken to the intensive care unit of Rakhiv Central Hospital. According to preliminary data, the man was diagnosed with head trauma and traumatic shock.
