Today, in Uzhgorod, a schoolgirl was injured during tree cutting operations

Today, employees of the "UzhAgromix" were cutting tree in the alley between schools №№12 and 15, and during that a schoolgirl born 2004 was injured.

It is the duty of the contractor to ensure all safety measures. The police is going to find out if it was done and what led to the tragedy.

The child is in Uzhgorod city center hospital, she has been operated on, there is no threat to her life.

Here’s how the Department of Communications of Transcarpathian Regional Police commented on the situation:

"On Zankovetska street in Uzhgorod, workers of a contractor company were performing pruning operation without having taken safety measures. As a result, a 14-year-old child was injured. A tree fell on the girl, breaking her leg. Currently, the life of the girl is not in danger.

The police classifies the actions of the public utilities as an offense under Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (negligence). The culprits are going to be notified of being suspected in the offense and taken into custody. The police are establishing the circumstances of the incident."
