A night robbery of a gas station on Gagarin street, which allegedly occurred on November 14, was solved by the Transcarpathian police in "hot pursuit". Officers of the Criminal Police found out that in fact there was no robbery at the gas station. The crime was staged by two employees of the gas station - cashier and operator - and their friend. All three are inhabitants of Uzhgorod district, one lives in the village of Serednye, the others - in Lintsi.
The guys decided to take advantage of the lack of video surveillance cameras and take the money. The cashier and operator took the cash amounting to about 120,000 UAH, made a little mess in the premises, and their third friend came to inflict them bodily injuries for believability. Then, he took the stolen money and was hiding at home, where he later was detained by the police.
Then, the pseudo-victims called the private security company that protects this gas station and told the fictional story of an armed robbery.
Currently, all suspects in the case have been detained. Criminal proceeding under Part 2 of Art.383 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (knowingly false report of a crime) has been initiated. The preliminary inquiry is ongoing.
