Police detained a large group of illegal immigrants
Police detained a large group of illegal migrants from Asia in Velyky Berezny district.
On the night of 4 to 5 November, officers of the department to combat human trafficking of the Main Office of the National Police in Transcarpathian region together with representatives of the Main Office of the State Migration Service in Transcarpathian region and Velyky Berezny police received information about a possible preparation for smuggling of a group of illegal migrants from Ukraine to the Slovak Republic in the direction of the village of Myrcha - the village of Zavosyno in Velyky Berezny district.
The information was transferred to the State Border Guard Service units.
The operatives of the department to combat human trafficking were engaged in the search operations.
As a result, officers of the Chop border guard detachment detained 16 illegal immigrants near the village of Myrcha, namely:
6 citizens of Vietnam, 5 citizens of Afghanistan, 2 citizens of Iraq, 2 citizens of Iran and 1 citizen of Pakistan.
Another six citizens from Vietnam were detained on the Slovak side of the border.
Filtration and verification activities are being carried out with the detainees to identify the persons involved in the illegal transportation of people across the border.
