Yesterday, at the checkpoint "Luzhanka" on the border with Hungary, border guards of the Mukachevo Detachment prevented another attempt of cigarette smuggling. The hidden cigarettes were found during the joint border and customs inspection of the minibus "Volkswagen" driven by our compatriot. The presence of tobacco in the vehicle was detected by a border guard dog Teddy. The 29-year-old Ukrainian was trying to move the tobacco products across the border by hiding them in structural cavities of his vehicle. Border guards found 2850 packs of contraband cigarettes of different brands in the cache equipped in the double bottom of the vehicle.

The relevant report was made. And the man lost not only the contraband tobacco products, but also his vehicle. The total value of the cigarettes was more than 60,000 UAH, the minibus "Volkswagen" made in 2005 was estimated at more than 223,000 UAH.
