At the customs post “Luzhanka”, a car and 5,300 packs of cigarettes were seized (PHOTO)

At the customs post "Luzhanka" of the Transcarpathian customs office, an attempt of cigarette smuggling to the EU was prevented. A citizen of Ukraine tried to illegally move the cigarettes across the customs border.

The Ukrainian arrived at the customs post by a car "MERCEDES SPRINTER" with Ukrainian registration. Based on analysis and risk assessment, the vehicle was sent for customs inspection.

Thus, in structural cavities of the vehicle luggage compartment, customs officers and border guards found cigarettes hidden from customs control. In particular, the man tried to move across the customs border 5,300 packs of cigarettes "ROTHMANS" and "MARLBORO" with excise stamps of Ukraine.

Thus, the citizens committed acts aimed at moving across the customs border of Ukraine tobacco products concealed from customs control, ie using methods that hinder identiication of such products.

These actions have signs of customs rules violation under Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. Currently, the report on violation of customs regulations have been made, the cigarettes and the vehicle were seized.
